- Discipleship Series: What is the Goodness of God?by Dr. Pam Morrison on September 18, 2023 at 10:34 pm
Have you ever blamed God for things that have happened to you? Been angry with God? That is something that happens often with people if they haven't thought a lot about the causes of events. Something bad happens and they immediately, or even for a long time, believe that God did it. He was out to get them. But when we really stop to consider the causes of events, when we mature in our faith, we come to realize that we're responsible some of the time for bad things happening. We make bad choices. Or, others may have sinned against us and made bad things happen to us or our loved ones. And finally, if we study the Bible, we'll see that a description of satan and evil spirits is given and that is yet another cause for trouble coming to us. There is a supernatural realm of evil which we have to deal with and acknowledge as a cause for bad events. When we grow up spiritually and grow up in our thinking, we become able to see that God is our help, "our refuge and strength, and ever present help in times of trouble." Psalm 46:1. He is there for us to bring deliverance out of all our troubles. Psalm 34:6 To gain greater understanding about this go to this article: Is God Controlling All Things Good and Evil That Happen To Us? - What is the Grace of God? (Discipleship Series)by Dr. Pam Morrison on September 6, 2023 at 10:14 pm
Grace is a word that people feel they understand, but by their words and actions, it is often clear that they don't. You see them straining and striving for God's approval. Or, you see them feeling too unworthy to be loved or needed by God. Then there is the disapproval and disdain Believers may have for others because of their past lives. Grace is so important to understand and to live out of when you follow Christ. Therefore, it's a starting place when you are trying to become a more established disciple. You have to understand how God and the Kingdom of God operate. It's "Grace City." Using Mark 5:1-20 as a foundational text, Dr. Pam talks about God's amazing grace. - Faith Unshakeable: The Fruit of Becoming a Disciple with Deep Rootsby Dr. Pam Morrison on August 26, 2023 at 4:50 pm
What makes a person able to cling to their faith even when faced with danger and death? In this episode the topic of having "faith unshakeable" is reflected upon. Having visited the Namugongo museum in the country of Uganda, the site of the death of 25 Christian martyrs, Dr. Pam Morrison was deeply moved. The question arises with such a witness, how did they do it? These young men were brutally treated, then murdered because they would not give up their faith in Jesus. What equips a believer to be so strong and so brave? Three things are offered in this episode of Rooted by the Stream as essential to developing this level of mature faith. In this episode, Dr. Pam lets the listeners know that she will continue to teach on discipleship for the next few months. This episode is offered as an introduction. The teachings will begin September 6, 2023 and will be in both blog and podcast format for the next few months. Many topics will be covered from grace, healed thinking, marriage and singleness, forgiveness, having a relationship with the Holy Spirit and much more. - Romans 10:17 WHY Does Faith Come by Hearing?by Dr. Pam Morrison on June 14, 2023 at 5:34 pm
Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing. There seems to be real importance to speaking words from the Bible out loud, declaring them over our lives, for changing what happens in our lives. Hearing the Word of God builds faith in us and faith is what is needed by God to work with us and through us. Faith building teachings from Kenneth Hagin are mentioned in this episode. May you find transformation and healing in your life and thinking. To connect with Dr. Pam on her website and through social media go to her LINK TREE page
- America and the First Great Awakening with Dr. Eddie Hyattby Dr. Pam Morrison on May 1, 2023 at 9:30 am
Was America founded in 1619 with the importation of the first slaves? Is it a hopelessly racist country? This is what the creators of the New York Times 1619 project would have you believe. Certainly, slavery is a huge blight on America's past, but are they right, that 1619 was our true beginning not 1776? My guest in this podcast, Dr. Eddie Hyatt, would argue that neither date is actually the moment in which our national character was forged. A Church historian and revival scholar, Eddie says the actual year that would truly shape the American heart and destiny was 1726. It is the year of the beginning of the First Great Awakening in America. Out of this spiritual revival that swept through the 13 colonies, two things happened - 1) the vision for the nation and its founding documents was greatly touched and shaped by God, and 2) the founders knew they would have to abolish slavery in response to God. Dr. Hyatt has written a book, 1726: The Year that Defined America. This is an excellent, well-researched, highly acclaimed book about the founding of America, the vision many had for its missionary purpose, and about the faith of the founding fathers. It is uplifting and hopeful in a time when many are denigrating America. It is also a portrayal of American history that is increasingly being left out of our textbooks. Dr. Hyatt has launched the 1726 Project in an effort to spread the truth about America's history. To reach Dr. Hyatt to have him present three sessions based on his book in your church, school, business, or organization, contact him at DrEddieHyatt@gmail.com. - What Spiritual Practices will Increase the Anointing of God in Me?by Dr. Pam Morrison on April 20, 2023 at 8:02 pm
Many believers have questions about how to have "the anointing," and "how to increase the anointing." "Do I need to do more prayer and fasting?" they may ask. "How much?" Those who don't move in charismatic communities might even ask, "What is the anointing?" These are good questions. Being anointed to do the work of Christ makes that work go so much more easily and be so much more fruitful. Flowing with God is far more desirable than straining in your own strength. This is a podcast about the spiritual practices that increase the power of God working through us. I mention verses about the baptism of the Holy Spirit (and also a little about the gifts of the Spirit) for further study. Here they are: Matthew 3:11, Mark 1:8, Luke 3:16, John 1:33, Acts 1:5, 1:8, 2:1-4, 8:14-17, 9:10-19, 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, 14:1-19 There are certainly more verses about the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible. Studying them along with studying all the healing stories of Jesus will prepare you for greater anointing and fullness with God. - Unstick Your Mind with Mimika Cooneyby Dr. Pam Morrison on March 21, 2023 at 4:36 pm
Hebrews 12:1 tells us that the way we're going to be able to run OUR race is to "throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles." I think we get the idea of the need to rid ourselves of sin. That's a basic moral idea. But, what hinders us from moving forward in life? Often it's our "regrets and remorse," as author Mimika Cooney says, "our poor thinking and attitudes." Mimika Cooney is the author of a new book which will be released in early May. It's called "Unstick Your Mind: Shift Your Mindset, Develop Grit, and Break Barriers." As a "personal trainer for your mind, Mimika says, "Unsticking the mind is one of my favorite topics." She loves to help people see that they are not stuck in a certain way of thinking or reacting - like they never can rid themselves of resentment, moodiness, excessive sadness, or a sense of not being capable. With the help and healing of Jesus and with the decision to press through the discomfort of change, we can become new. "We can turn from being victims to being victors." Mimika's website will get you connected with her books, blogs, her YouTube channel and so many more wonderful resources to help you. - You've Prayed for Healing but Nothing Has Changed. What Now?by Dr. Pam Morrison on February 21, 2023 at 12:50 pm
Are you someone who has had an illness for a long time? Do you love someone who has been chronically sick? Perhaps you have prayed. You have had whole groups of people praying. This happens to more than a few of us. It happened to my husband who suffered from cancer 15-16 years. He has just been declared "cancer free." We have prayed, taken communion, had groups and groups of people praying for him. But, we went through years with no relief from cancer until now. When that happens, why does it happen? How shall we think about our relationship with God? This is an episode full of joy and encouragement. We are PRAISING God for His incredible, constant, and awesome goodness. The years of enduring cancer proved to be very fruitful. We came through VICTORIOUS. God will sustain you in whatever hardship you find yourself and you'll be able to say, "The Lord is my Shepherd (too)...Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life. - What is happening at Asbury University? When True Revival Comesby Dr. Pam Morrison on February 14, 2023 at 10:30 am
The chapel at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky is filled with worshippers. It has been for days. Revival has broken out. Students are even bringing mattresses so that they might sleep in the Hughes auditorium. No one wants to leave the manifest, tangible presence of God. Worship is spontaneous. One team plays for a while, then others come to take their places so that the music and prayer do not cease. People are coming from hours away as the news is spreading swiftly across social media. How hungry so many of us are to feel more of God with us. What are the hallmarks of true revival because sometimes people can simply get carried away with emotion and from being in a crowd. When God is truly there in the unique way of a revival there is nothing sweeter and that is what should be pursued. This is a podcast about the Asbury University revival, but also about revival in general. Come, Holy Spirit. We need You. Please connect with me on multiple platforms by visiting my Link Tree page.
- What Does Discipleship Look Like? Becoming a Brand New Creationby Dr. Pam Morrison on February 7, 2023 at 10:30 am
Discipleship is what comes after putting your belief in Jesus. But it is a neglected part of Christian life. Sometimes people can feel they've been left floundering on their own, not knowing what to do next, how to study, pray, or grow. Therefore, we need to talk more about it and set up thoughtful ways in which to walk with people. This podcast is a discussion of the "new responsibilities" that come from turning to Christ. He enables us to immediately "walk" with Him and serve Him even as we are growing. But what explicitly does a follower of Jesus do? Is there a succinct passage of scripture that describes the new life Christ gives. The answer is yes and you can find it in this podcast. You can find more about the benefits of being a Christian in this article: How Can I Gain More Fully All the Benefits of the Christian Life To connect with me on my website and social media please click this link to my page where you will find all addresses.
- What to Do When Under Attack - Wisdom from the Psalmsby Dr. Pam Morrison on January 31, 2023 at 10:30 am
A friend of mine went through a season of tremendous attack within the Church. But God was faithful and brought him through it. What do you do when suddenly you seem to have many human enemies, trying to pull you down with gossip and the manipulation of other people's attitudes towards you. Feeling alone and under attack can make you want to take matters into your own hands and fight back. But how should we see the situation with spiritual eyes? And what is God up to when we're suddenly "surrounded by enemies?" This podcast is a guide for anyone under attack as to how to endure and have victory over the personal attacks. - When Feeling Defeated, Jesus Can Heal and Lift You Upby Dr. Pam Morrison on January 24, 2023 at 10:30 am
All of us struggle with feelings of defeat at times. The way gets too hard. Too many challenges are in front of us or we feel like we have failed in some way. It isn't God's desire for us to remain in this state of mind. Scripture has many stories of people who failed or who felt like failures, but God had a different view of them. One of the classic pictures of our perspective on things colliding with God's is when Gideon was hiding in a winepress threshing wheat, because his people felt so scared of and defeated by the Midianites. The angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon and said, "Hello, mighty warrior." Gideon, in his own eyes, was no mighty warrior. He was a hiding out coward at that moment. But, God called him out of it and into the one he would become with God's aid. God can and will do the same for us. This is a podcast about defeating defeat! - Jesus is the Healer of Our Identityby Dr. Pam Morrison on January 17, 2023 at 10:30 am
When Jesus encounters each of us and we put our faith in Him, He does a marvelous thing. He utterly transforms us. He doesn't improve our life. He takes us from death to life, from being sinner to being saint. We're given new identity, new purpose, and new power. Because of Him, we become finally capable of really loving others and ourselves. This is the good news of the gospel. Freed from sin and death, in Christ, we become set for eternal life. Many people do not know this. They need to hear the gospel and experience relationship with Jesus. Some of them are in churches and do not realize they haven't crossed over from death to life. There is a real urgency to share the good news of Christ. We're called to be His witnesses to a hurting world. He gives us the new identity to enable us to do that. - A Christmas Message of Hope - God Has Not Forgotten Youby Dr. Pam Morrison on December 20, 2022 at 10:30 am
Sometimes it feels difficult to celebrate Christmas. The difficulties and even tragedies in our own lives may settle over us with gloom. The national and world events may seem to grow in darkness. A week ago, we attended the funeral mass of a friend who died way too soon and at this time, of all times. Can we overcome the world and still find ourselves singing, "Joy to the World?" I believe we can. Using the Nativity account from Luke's gospel, this podcast focuses on God's awareness and blessing of the "cast of characters" in the Christmas story. At the end of this podcast is the account of a pastor from Australia who was taken to heaven. Prior to God's sudden blessing of him, he felt defeated and forgotten. But now, all is different. This can also be your life. God wants to bless you and I pray your fresh encounter with Him will come this Christmas. - When Feeling Betrayed, Rejected, Abandoned...Jesus Healsby Dr. Pam Morrison on December 13, 2022 at 10:30 am
It is part of our lives as people to encounter betrayals. We all know what it is to have moments of rejection, hurt, and abandonment. But, how do we recover from that pain? How do we walk away from perhaps feeling extremely angry and wanting to get even? Jesus knew betrayal in His life. Ultimately, He felt utterly abandoned and alone on the cross surrounded by those who mocked and tortured Him. He understands our pain. And because He understands and is God, He can bring healing and freedom back into our lives. Jesus Heals. That is the name of a series that begins with this podcast. - How Do I Break Free of Spiritual Strongholds in My Life?by Dr. Pam Morrison on December 6, 2022 at 10:30 am
Habits, addictions, and attitudes can have a stranglehold on our lives. They are what is called strongholds and it can seem impossible to get rid of them. But that is not true. You can get free even if you have struggled for a long time. In this podcast, I give the testimony of a friend who had a drinking problem for decades, but she got free of alcohol. She was motivated by a scary episode of physical pain that made her question the danger her habit put her in. She is now alcohol free and has been so for a year. You can lose your strongholds too. In this episode, I mention the Spiritual Warfare Bible as a good resource for "doing war" against bad habits and attacks of the enemy of our souls. You can find this Bible on Charisma by going here.

But people hunger to know more techniques for coping with and rising out of the pit of sadness. This podcast is about coping with the spirit of heaviness; sadness and depression during the holidays, and a spiritual coping mechanism for rising above our heartaches. - Restoring Childlike Faith with Joel Yount, Co-founder of Spirit Fuelby Dr. Pam Morrison on November 22, 2022 at 10:30 am
"The longest distance is the 18 inches between the head and the heart," someone once said. What they meant is that we sometimes have ideas about God and the world that keep us from having a childlike faith in our hearts. In our brains are facts about God, perhaps, but also there are blockers - like doubt, painful experiences, disappointment, and negative feelings - that keep us from trusting God in a simple and fervent way. In this podcast episode, there is a brief audio tape portion from author, podcaster, and co-founder of Spirit Fuel, Joel Yount. Joel gives a pathway and prays for the audience in regards to restoring a child like faith. Jesus said having this type of faith is the only entry point into the kingdom of heaven so this is vital information. Joel's personal page, where you can find his podcast, books, his rumble and YouTube sites, and more is JoelYount.com. Spirit Fuel can be found at spiritfuel.me.
